The Office of Sexual Harassment Prevention & Policy (OSHPP) provides educational programs and information designed specifically for faculty, staff and students. Supervisor Training Frequently Asked Questions Effective January 1, 2005, UCSD supervisors and academic appointees are required to take a 2-hour education course every 2 years. For employees who took the course in 2005, 2007 was a re-training year. Following are frequently asked questions relating to this requirement: Who is
required to take a supervisory education course? Any individual having the authority, and the interest of the employer, to hire, transfer, suspend, layoff, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward or discipline other employees, or the responsibility to direct them, or to adjust their grievances, or effectively to recommend that action, if, in connection with the foregoing, the exercise of that authority is not merely of a routine or clerical nature, but requires the use of independent judgment.

Employees who are subject to the requirement may satisfy it in one of 2 ways: * Sign up for a classroom presentation. Enrollment Central, a service of Staff Education & Development, offers Sexual Harassment Prevention: The Supervisor's Survival Guide, which satisfies the mandatory sexual harassment training requirement for supervisors under California law. Departments may also
arrange for special classroom presentations by contacting OSHPP. Looking for the link to the 2-hour online course? If you have not received an email from UCOP with an individualized link to the online program, there are several possible reasons: You already satisfied

Sexual Harassment Program Request Form
This form is used when you would like to have a member of our staff provide a Sexual Harassment training for your department, staff members, or student group and/or residents. It is available as a download-able Word document and as an Adobe Acrobat Reader PDF file. Once the form has been filled out, it can be faxed to the Office of Sexual Harassment Prevention & Policy at 858-534-0393, or sent to OSHPP. Our mail code is 0024 via inter-campus mail.
